DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn how to create naturally dyed textiles using plants? Use winter harvested cones and seeds to create naturally dyed textiles with color from nature through hands on learning. Shibori Binding and clamping techniques will be used to create patterns. Learn about the selected dye plants of the season\, including their special and unique dye properties. The impacts of the seasons and the environment on color and chemical composition of plants. See demonstration of techniques for creating various effects with binding and clamping and examples to observe. Create your own natural dyed set (2) of napkins using seasonal organic plant material including cones and seeds. Communal Student share and observation to complete the workshop. You will learn about the natural dyeing properties of seasonal nuts\, seeds\, leaves and plants to create your own personal piece of textile art to take home. No experience is necessary. All workshop materials will be provided\, with an option to purchase additional textiles for further creating.
