I am, Violet Stafford, the “New Face” of The Salvation Army Gillespie County.  I am a local, born and raised here.  Family roots run deep.   I have a Youth Ministry Degree from TLU, short time in the US Army, and two amazing girls in Elementary School that I adopted.  I am about a month into my job, I will not have all the answers yet, BUT I will find them, so please don’t hesitate to ask.  I have already hit the ground running and I am ready to keep going.    

So Red Kettle Campaign 2025 for The Salvation Army is on our heels and I will be needing your help.  I am not sure how much you all know about this fundraiser, but it is the biggest one of The Salvation Army and ALL the proceeds stay here locally in Gillespie County.   I will be starting Red Kettle on the 21st of November.  If we have enough people to sign up, I would love to add more days in December.  I am excited to have THREE locations this year.  Wal-Mart, Walgreens, and Loca on Main!!

• I would like to see organizations/Churches/etc. to volunteer and cover a full day/weekend/location.  Tommy Russel with Fredericksburg Church is already on board with his church to support a day.  
• I would like to set the kettles at different Churches on Sundays, since we are not able to ring on Sundays, to get more awareness and hopefully more donations.  Brian with Presbyterian Church has volunteered to sponsor a kettle on the 23rd of  November. 
• I also have countertop donation boxes that I would love to have in businesses throughout the town.  Currently we have them in Nobilitea and Chase Bank.
• I am also looking for individuals/organizations that would like to sponsor a kettle and match the funds brought for kettles.  Sponsors can pick a specific time/location when the kettle is out.  I will mark the kettle with the sponsor; and what a wonderful end of the year tax write off for that individual/organization 😉 (We have one kettle sponsor already, Picture US PhotoBooth. AND fingers crossed we may already have one full matching funds sponsor!)

I have lots of other ideas; but these are the ones I would like to get your help with.   If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.  If you would like me to come and talk to your churches, please let me know!  

Also let me know as soon as possible what day your Church would like to sponsor to ring and what location(s); kettle Sunday; and/or matching funds kettle.
