Dental Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Preparing patients for dental work
• Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedure
• Assisting dental hygienists with procedures when necessary
• Providing great patient care
• Recording accurate treatment information in patient records
• Taking dental radiographs
• Giving patients information on dental hygiene and oral health care
• Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs
• Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist
• Caring for dental equipment and maintaining inventory
• Forming preliminary impressions for study casts and bite registrations
• Fabricating temporary restorations
• Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary

Dental Assistant Requirements:

• Registered Dental Assistant (preferred but not required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient experience in using computers for a variety of tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Consistently friendly and professional in both appearance and attitude
• Able to consistently provide great patient care
