Outpost: Lions in the Jungle - The British Army as Chindits

Saturday, May 16, 2026 (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Officially known as Long Range Penetration Groups, the Chindits were special operations units within the British Army that operated deep behind enemy lines in Burma. These forces conducted raids, disrupted supply lines, and gathered intelligence while enduring harsh jungle conditions. This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the Chindits and their role in the Pacific War. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into jungle warfare, special operations tactics, and the experiences of soldiers who operated far from conventional front lines.
