FREDERICKSBURG, Texas (September 21, 2026) –  The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce is now accepting entries for the 2026 Light The Night Christmas Parade, returning to historic Main Street on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Proudly presented by H-E-B, the Light The Night Christmas Parade has been a Fredericksburg tradition for more than 30 years, bringing thousands of residents and visitors together each December for an evening of lights, music and holiday cheer. The event is the largest free event in Gillespie County, making it a signature celebration for the community and an important part of the local holiday season.

Businesses, organizations, schools, nonprofits and community groups are encouraged to create a float and join the celebration. Entry is free, but a completed application is required, and parade entries are limited to 160.

“The Christmas Parade has become such an important part of the holiday season in Fredericksburg,” said Kelly Criddle, Director of Operations for the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a tradition that brings our community together, gives local businesses and organizations a chance to shine and creates memories for the families who come out year after year.” 

For local businesses and organizations, participating in the parade is also an opportunity to connect with the community and showcase what they do. The first 30 minutes of the parade will be aired live on CBS Austin, giving participating entries exposure to viewers beyond Fredericksburg. The full parade will also be live streamed on Fbg.Live.

The celebration extends beyond the parade route, with holiday activities taking place throughout the afternoon and evening. The Afterglow on Marktplatz will be open from 3 to 9 p.m. with food and beverage vendors and kids’ activities, giving families plenty of opportunities to enjoy the festivities before and after the parade. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make a special appearance at Peppermint Platz on Marktplatz after the parade, where families can enjoy free photos with Santa from 8 to 9 p.m.

Businesses and organizations interested in participating are encouraged to submit their applications early. Entries are limited to 160 and will be accepted until November 13, or until all spots are filled, whichever comes first.
