Chamber to Host State of the Burg Economic Summit at St. Joseph’s Halle
FREDERICKSBURG, Texas (April 1, 2026) – The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce will host its annual State of the Burg Economic Summit on Wednesday, May 13, at St. Joseph's Halle. The half-day summit brings together regional leaders and industry experts to provide in-depth updates on the economic forces shaping Fredericksburg, Gillespie County and the broader Texas Hill Country.
A continental style breakfast and coffee will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m., with the program starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. The event will conclude at 12:30 p.m.
This year’s program will cover health care, macroeconomic trends, real estate markets and local development activity — offering attendees a comprehensive look at both local and statewide conditions that directly impact the community.
Emily Mochan, chief operating officer of Methodist Hospital Hill Country, will share an update on the region’s health care landscape and the hospital’s continued growth. Dr. Lynn Krebs, research economist with the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M University, will provide a Texas and regional real estate market update and a forward-looking forecast for the state.
Additional speakers will include Brian Heath, CEO of Heath Family Brands, who will discuss evolving consumer behavior and the “new middle class” driving today’s economy. A development panel moderated by John Wallace, market president of Happy State Bank, will feature Acho Azuike of DC Partners, Mike Davis of the Elk & Main complex and Mike Robinson, local chef, restaurateur and developer, who will provide insight into current and future projects shaping Gillespie County.
“Our community continues to experience change and opportunity at a rapid pace,” said Jim Mikula, President/CEO of the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber’s Economic Summit is an opportunity each year for business owners, community leaders and residents to stay informed and to hear updates that directly affect us locally. When we understand the broader economic picture, we are better prepared to make decisions that strengthen Fredericksburg’s future.”
The Chamber extends its appreciation to this year’s sponsors, including Happy State Bank, Hill Country Titles Inc., Methodist Hospital Hill Country and Rio Bank, whose support helps make the summit possible.
Registration is open to Chamber members and the public with discounted pricing available for members. For more information or to register, visit fbgtxchamber.org or call 830-997-5000.
The mission of the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce is to champion our business community through collaboration, information and service.
